In recent years, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, thanks to its collaboration with the Giuseppe Toniolo Institute for Advanced Studies and the EDUCatt Foundation, has equipped its residential facilities with state-of-the-art tools, in line with the characteristics of the best national and international university colleges.
However, the originality of the ‘on Campus’ system, present in Milan, Piacenza and Rome with its nine colleges and its increasingly modern and functional services, lies above all in the fact that it has been conceived by the University not only as a response to students’ residential needs, but as an integral and qualified part of its educational proposal. The campuses of the Catholic University offer the possibility of living the university study season to the full and in a particularly fruitful way, in the context of a human, personal and community experience that is engaging and constructive. Suffice it to think of a few opportunities that may prove to be important ‘added values’ in a path of personal maturity: daily confrontation with a tradition of scientific prestige and bearer of profound civil and religious values; forging friendship relationships – which often last well beyond the time of study – with boys and girls from faculties other than one’s own or from different territorial contexts; making use of spaces and services also to improve the quality of one’s free time.
Those who live ‘on Campus’, moreover, have exclusive or facilitated access to a series of initiatives that enable them, thanks to the combination of theoretical training and practical experience, to significantly enrich their curriculum. Of the wide range on offer, which you can discover and explore in more detail on the following pages and on the “in Campus” website, I would just like to mention the “High Schools & Colleges” project, which sees the activation of reserved advanced training courses in various disciplines and with internationally renowned lecturers; “Language Project” where English, German and Chinese language courses are offered, with a scholarship, enabling our “collegiates” to obtain the certifications necessary to access the most sought-after specialisation courses; “UCSC Charity Work Programme”, which provides the opportunity to collaborate in cooperation projects in developing countries Finally, the possibility of taking part in international exchanges and study trips, including the Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, preceded by special historical and cultural preparation, is of special importance for the Cattolica.
Being “on Campus” therefore means finding oneself in the ideal condition to live the university experience intensely and exercise one’s freedom with respect to the many opportunities offered in an atmosphere of dialogue and mutual trust. An authentic experience at the heart of our university.
